Practitioner (doctor, dentist, therapist…)
Practitioners examine patients, document visits, prescribe, sign clinical documents, run teleconsultations and maintain care plans. THERAPIST is a legacy alias of this role.
Who this is for
Doctors, dentists, therapists, optometrists, counsellors and any clinician who must write or sign patient records.
What you can access
PRACTITIONER and DOCTOR include dashboard.practitioner, letterpad.use, patient read/create/update, appointment manage, encounter.write, vitals.write, clinical document create/sign/amend/share, rx.write, care plans, packages, billing create, AI assist when enabled, document vault read/upload/delete, consent capture, immunization.write and teleconsult.conduct.
PRACTITIONER, DOCTOR and THERAPIST behave the same everywhere a clinician is meant: every active practitioner (any designation) appears in staff pickers such as Treating Doctor on bills, appointments, payouts and reports; sees only the bills they created or that are assigned to them; and is notified only about the bills and patients assigned to them (never about other clinicians' bills or patients).
Public website and booking listing
Your clinic's public website and online booking page list only clinicians who are opted in to public visibility:
DOCTORandTHERAPISTusers are listed by role.- A
PRACTITIONERis listed only when every designation on record — the Designation in Professional Details and the one the onboarding wizard stores on the staff record — is a patient-facing clinician designation: Doctor, Dentist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Audiologist, Psychologist or Nutritionist. Two different patient-facing designations (for example Dentist and Physiotherapist) are fine. - A designation that is not patient-facing on either record — Nurse, Lab Technician or any other free-text designation — or no designation at all keeps the practitioner off the public listing.
- Signature, seal and registration number are never shown publicly.
