Pediatrics

Record well-child visits, growth, developmental milestones, vaccination records and pediatric prescriptions.

Who can do this: Owner/Super Admin for setup (settings.manage, branches.manage, services.manage, users.manage); Receptionist for front desk (patient.create, appointment.manage, queue.manage, billing.create); Practitioner for clinical work (encounter.write, rx.write, clinical.document.sign). Where: Settings (/app/system-settings), Branches (/app/branches), Services (/app/services), Employees (/app/employees), Patients (/app/patients), Queue (/app/queue) or Appointments (/app/appointments), Clinical Documents (/app/clinical-documents), Billing (/app/billing).

Who it is for and plan fit​

  • Pediatricians, nurses and front desk teams handling children and guardians.
  • Use Clinic ₹499/month or Polyclinic ₹1,499/branch/month when pediatrics is one department.

Before you start​

  • Guardian names and phone-number policy for siblings.
  • Vaccination fee list and batch-number practice.
  • Baby scale, length board/stadiometer and head-circumference tape.
  • Consent process for minors and WhatsApp reminders.

First-day checklist​

  1. Sign up and choose facility type CLINIC ? Clinic or POLYCLINIC ? Polyclinic, then specialty PEDIATRICS ? Pediatrics. Result: the right modules, terminology, services and templates are enabled.
  2. Complete the Onboarding wizard at /app/onboarding: clinic, departments, practitioners, branding, services, templates, gst, import and goLive. Result: the go-live checklist is ready.
  3. Save Settings (/app/system-settings) and create one Branch (/app/branches). Result: the forced setup block clears.
  4. Open Services (/app/services) and review seeded services: PED_CONSULT Pediatric Consultation, PED_WELL_BABY Well-baby Check-up, PED_VACCINATION Vaccination Visit. Set prices and GST before billing. Result: service lines are ready.
  5. Open Employees (/app/employees) ? Create Employee. Fill Full Name, Phone Number, Email Address, Allow app login for this employee, Employee Role (RECEPTIONIST, DOCTOR, THERAPIST, ACCOUNTANT, BRANCH_MANAGER, SUPER_ADMIN) and Branch; for doctors/therapists add Professional Details. Result: staff receives a set-password email when login is enabled.
  6. Register the first patient from Patients (/app/patients/register); use a fictitious dry-run patient such as Asha Verma. Result: the file is ready for queue, appointment, documents and billing.
  7. Issue a walk-in token from Queue (/app/queue) or book from Appointments (/app/appointments/book). Result: the practitioner can open the visit.
  8. Start the encounter workspace (/app/patients/:patientId/encounters/:encounterId), record vitals where relevant and save notes. Result: the encounter is in the timeline.
  9. Use the Rx pad in the encounter, save and print/share the prescription. Result: Rx is available for print and portal sharing.
  10. Open Clinical Documents (/app/clinical-documents) ? New Document (/app/clinical-documents/new), choose the patient and pack template, complete fields and sign. Result: first signed document is ready in under 15 minutes.
  11. Open Billing (/app/billing/create), add service lines and collect cash/UPI/card. Healthcare services are usually GST-exempt; add GST only to taxable medicines, consumables or products. Result: first bill is ready in under 10 minutes.
  12. Share Rx, clinical document or bill from print/share or WhatsApp Inbox (/app/whatsapp-inbox). Result: the patient receives the selected PDF or link.

Screens for signup and the onboarding wizard ship with release R1; labels may differ slightly. New owners are still redirected to Settings (/app/system-settings) and Branches (/app/branches) until organisation settings and one branch exist.

  • Allow siblings to share a parent phone but keep each child as a separate patient.
  • Keep guardian fields mandatory for minors and capture Guardian consent for a minor when needed.
  • Use queue prefix PED; use appointments for vaccination slots if capacity is limited.
  • Follow Immunization record (IAP schedule) and record brand, batch, site and AEFI.
  • Plot growth from accurate DOB, sex, weight, length/height and head circumference.

Templates included​

  • Well-child visit ? history, feeding, sleep, elimination, growth-chart widget, vitals, normal exam macro, development/immunisation status, vaccines due, guidance and follow-up.
  • Immunization record (IAP schedule) ? dose table for due/given dates, brand, batch, site, AEFI details and next due date.
  • Developmental milestones assessment ? shared milestone grid across developmental domains and age bands.
  • Shared: OPD consultation (SOAP), Informed consent ? procedure, Teleconsultation consent, Guardian consent for a minor, Referral letter, Medical certificate (sickness) and Fitness certificate.

Good to know​

  • Growth chart calculations use z-scores and percentiles; verify units before signing.
  • Send vaccine reminders only to families who consented to WhatsApp.
