First lab result

Goal and time target​

Handle an outside lab report today without waiting for the R2 LIS module.

You need​

  • Role: Receptionist, Branch Manager, Practitioner or Owner with document vault upload access.
  • Route: patient document vault /app/patients/:patientId/documents, or Files in the visit workspace.
  • PDF/photo of the outside lab report.

Steps​

  1. Open Patients and select the patient.
  2. Open the patient document vault (/app/patients/:patientId/documents) or the visit Files tab.
  3. Choose File. Allowed today: PDF, JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC up to 15 MB.
  4. Choose Category as Report and add a clear Title, such as "CBC outside lab 26 Sep".
  5. Tick Restricted only if the report is sensitive.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. If structured values are needed today, open Clinical Documents, create a document and record the result inside the note.

Done when...​

The outside report appears in the patient vault and the clinician can preview or download it.

Tips​

  • Photograph reports flat, bright and complete.
  • Do not upload another patient's report into the wrong record.
  • R2 will add LIS/radiology workflows; this card is the safe R1 workaround.

If something goes wrong​

If upload fails, check file type and size, then try again from a stable network.
